Our Mission:
Science Scoop ignites an interest in science among middle school students through interactive activities that identify and cultivate school and career aspirations.
We are a non-profit organization founded to inspire mainly middle-school girls to fall in love with one of the many careers the science field has to offer.
The five fields that we believe will be the most interesting to a wide variety of girls include: animals, cosmetics, medicine, nature, and technology. These five fields cover a plethora of interests, making it easy for each individual to identify with one of the hundreds of jobs in each field.
We offer a one hour interactive seminar complete with laughs, experiments, excitement, and a short, interactive quiz to show each student what career in science matches their current interests.
We founded Science Scoop to share with others some of the great experiences we had in middle school when we were lucky to have a teacher that opened our eyes to the many school and career-related options available in the sciences. We want to expose middle school students to career options in science in order to prove to them that they can make a difference one day. We think that if students can picture the career they might want to pursue, it will motivate them to ambitiously study science in high school and college. We are both taking a lot of science in high school, hope to study science in college and plan to make some kind of science-related impact on the world.
